Our surroundings

Lake Velence is the third largest natural lake in Hungary. It is a popular holiday destination among Hungarians. The lake has a surface area of 26 km2, a third of which is covered with reeds. Due to the sunny climate of the area and the shallowness of the lake, it is one of the warmest lakes in Europe: temperatures in summer can reach 26 to 28 °C.
Part of the lake is a bird sanctuary with many different species.
Because motorboats are prohibited, the lake is perfect for swimming, sailing, surfing, cable water skiing, paddling and the beautiful surroundings offer many opportunities for cycling and walking.
Velence offers its guests a beautiful promenade (Velence Korzó) with shops, restaurants, kiosks, playground for children, etc. just a 15-minute walk from Dominik Apartmanház.
Székesfehérvár, the former royal residence with several sights, is only 22 kilometers away by car or by train (approx. every 30 minutes).
Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is 42 km from Velence and can be reached, for example, either by car on the highway or by train, wich leaves about every 30 minutes.
